He earned his first international cap for his national team in a friendly game in which Argentina faced Venezuela, in March 2011. He was brought into the game as a substitute in the half time of the match that ended in a victory for Argentina with a score of 4–1. After this, there was a huge gap in his international career. After a gap of almost four years, he was called up again for the first time in September 2014, he was invited by Gerardo Martino to become part of the squad of Argentina in friendly games in which the team would face Brazil and Hong Kong. In the next year, he assumed his responsibility as a keeper of the national team, as a result of for Argentina’s national team after Mariano Andújar’s injury in Copa América.
