English footballer Fabian Delph currently plays as a midfielder of the Premier League club Manchester City besides appearing regularly for the England national football team. He started his football journey with Bradford City and moved to Leeds United youth academy at the age of just 11. Delph started his football career as a youngster at Bradford City and joined Leeds United youth academy in September 2001 under their academy coach Greg Abbott. He signed a two-year-scholarship deal with Leeds United in 2006 at the age of just 16. He then became the captain of the Leeds reserve team in 2007. Delph made his first team debut as a substitute in a league match against Derby County on 6th May 2007. He then signed his first professional contract with Leeds on 11th January 2008 followed by two appearances in the same season as a substitute. Delph signed another four-and-a-half-year contract extension till 2019 on 25th January 2015. He captained the Aston Villa squad for the first time in the 2015 FA Cup Final against Arsenal at Wembley Stadium on 30th May 2015.

Born on 21st November 1989 in Bradford, West Yorkshire, Delph completed his schooling from Boston Spa School which is a partner school of Leeds United. He married his long-time girlfriend Natalie Delph. The couple has two kids together, Sofia and Aleya Delph. He was arrested for drunk driving in Rothwell, Leeds, on 23rd December 2008. For this incident Leeds Magistrates’ Court disqualified him from driving for 18 months and fined him £1,400.
