Spanish footballer Iago Aspas currently plays as a striker for the La Liga squad Celta de Vigo besides his regular participation for the Spanish national football team. He started his childhood footballing journey with his native club CD Moaña. He then joined the youth academy system of Celta de Vigo in 1995 when he was just eight years old. Aspas earned his promotion through several age-groups in the academy and finally made his debut for the club’s reserve team in 2006. Aspas grew up in Moaña while being a Celta de Vigo fan since his childhood. And after a short stint with native side CD Moaña, he tried out for the youth academy system of Celta with no football boots. With immense talent, he got selected in his very first attempts. He joined the youth academy at the age of just eight in 1995. He started rigorous football training at the academy and quickly escalated through several age-groups. Aspas spent a season on loan to Rápido de Bouzas from Celta in 2004. After his return, he showed his worthiness to play for the senior side of the club.

Aspas made his debut for Celta de Vigo in a Segunda División match against .D. Salamanca SAD on 8th June 2008. Aspas returned to his homeland and joined Sevilla FC on 14th July 2014 on a season-long loan from Liverpool. He made his debut for Sevilla in the 2014 UEFA Super Cup match against Real Madrid at the Cardiff City Stadium on 12th August 2014. He then made his La Liga debut for the club against Getafe CF on 14th September 2014. Shortly after, he scored his first goal in a UEFA Europa League group stage match against HNK Rijeka on 2nd October 2014. Aspas scored his first competitive hat-trick in the Copa del Rey match against CE Sabadell FC on 29th October 2014.
