English footballer Nathaniel Clyne currently plays as a right back for the English Premier League club Liverpool besides his regular participation in the England national football team in international competitions. Clyne first joined the Afewee Academy founded by Steadman Scott. He started his football training as a winger at Afewee and opted for trials at Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal. Clyne then joined the youth academy system of Crystal Palace in 1999 at the age of just eight. He then made his progression through several age-level squads at the palace and finally earned his call-up for the first team in 2008. Clyne started his professional football journey with the Eagles at the age of just 17.

Clyne, after spending three seasons with Southampton, signed a five-year contract with Liverpool on 1st July 2015. He became a member of the Reds squad with an estimated transfer fee of £12.5 Million. His former club Crystal Palace also made £2.5 Million profit through this deal. Clyne then made his debut for Liverpool in a pre-season friendly against True Thai Premier League All Stars on 14th July 2015 in Bangkok. He made his competitive debut in a Premier League match against Stoke City on 10th August 2015.

Clyne scored his first goal for Liverpool in the League Cup fourth-round match against Bournemouth on 8th October 2015.
