One day after Deportivo la Coruna got defeated by Real Madrid who hit the score of 7-1, defender Sergio Ramos joined the training of his club at Valdebebas ground. Ramos got diagnosed with soleus strain about two and a half weeks ago, and has made an appearance for his club since the El Clásico loss to Barcelona late in December.

Real is all set to host Leganés for the Copa del Rey second leg in the quarter-finals which will be held on Wednesday night. However, even though Ramos is back, it is not expected that the centre-back will be involved in the match.

After the thumping victory over Deportivo, some of the starters who appeared in the match went through the training at a rather slow speed, while the rest were at a faster pace of working out. Meanwhile, the players who stayed in the gym were Cristiano Ronaldo, after a massive face injury, and full-back Marcelo.

Zinedine Zidane’s team missed Jesús Vallejo since the defender is recovering from an injury in hamstring, while Dani Ceballos, the midfielder, is in the sideline because of a sprain in the ankle, which he underwent during the training session.

While the Spanish international took his first training session, his injured teammate, Cristiano Ronaldo, preferred to work indoors along with Marcelo. Ronaldo scored two goals in the match against Deportivo, the second one being in the ending minutes of the match. It was a header that gave him the head injury, as the cleats of one of the opponents hit him just a few centimeters from the left eye, making him bleed profusely.
