Days back South African star AB de Villiers displaced Virat Kohli to sworn in as new top batsman at ICC ODI Rankings. Most Runs in ODIs in 2017 Full List: Virat Kohli on Top

It will be pertinent to mention here that Indian skipper Virat Kohli has been brilliant in ODI matches he played in this years. And his latest century, coming against New Zealand in 1st ODI worked as icing on the cake as it cut-off the gap between him and Proteas star Hashim Amla, in the list of Most Runs in 2017 (across all formats).

Finishing this year as the most runs scorer in international cricket in the calendar year won’t be anything new for King Kohli as he also did this last year with scoring  2595 runs across all formats in calendar year 2016.  It should be kept noted here that Virat Kohli seems safe on the top now as still home series against Sri Lanka is on the cards by end of this year. At the same time, one can expect Kohli’s lead on top further extending even more as still an ODI match and T20 series is yet to come against Black Caps.

Amid all praises for Virat Kohli, one can’t negate Hashim Amla’s brilliance with the bat as this year he has amassed 1985 runs in just 33 matches (ODI, Test, T20Is), and that all coming up with an average of 50.89. This bearded genius hailing from South Africa has been in the news for all the good with bat from over the years.

The English great Joe Root is prominent on the list with sitting on third slot on the list and averaging 63.96. With Ashes coming next month, Root will be looking to add more runs to his name in this calendar year. It should be kept noted here that the English star has been in the list of top 10 scorers list of ODIs and Tests this year.

On the 4th place, we have South African skipper Faf du Plessis, who has scored 1709 runs in 33 matches he played in 2017. We would have added more runs to his name but his injury amid ODI against Bangladesh has forced him to rest for at least 6 weeks. In the list of top 10 most runs scorers across all formats, South Africa is the only team to have 3 batsman up on the list as Quinton de Kock is 6th on the lost with scoring 1, 551 runs.

Team Sri Lanka is undergoing some bad phase in the limited-overs cricket and seems that batsman have least affected with this chaos as we can see two Sri Lankan batsman up in this list of Most Runs in 2017 across all formats. Niroshan Dickwella has scored 1603 runs in 37 matches in 2017 with maintaining an average of 36.43.

The promising Pakistani star Babar Azam is also in the list at 8th slot with scoring 1,372 runs in 31 games this year across all formats. It should be kept noted here that Azam failed to score big runs in the Test matches, and in case if he would have scored big in this prestigious format, he would have been more prominent in the list of Most Runs in 2017 across all formats.

The one and only Aussie on this top 10 list is leftie-star David Warner, who scored 1,313 runs in 22 matches this year with an average of 46.89. Next on the left is another southpaw, Tamim Iqbal, who struck 1,286 runs in 27 games this year. It will be relevant to mention here that Tamim has been one of the pivotal cricketers to uplift Bangladesh from last couple of years.
