Afridi’s Longest Inning
It feels odd when we are talking about interesting stats and Shahid Afridi is not there. so here we go.
Shahid Afridi has played 398 One-Day International matches, where he scored more than 8064 runs with 6 centuries and 39 half centuries, but he has not played 100 balls in an innings yet. the highest number of balls he played was 94 when he scored 109 runs. while his longest stay at the wicket was as a runner for Saeed Anwar during his 194 against India.
Wickets in first Over
SriLanka’s pacer Shaminda Eranga has grabbed his 1st wicket in 1st over of his debut in all three formats – TEST, ODI and T20 international.
Two Innings in One Day
On July 19, 1952, India became the first international test team to be dismissed twice in one day. England restricted the Indian to paltry scores of 58 and 82 at Old Trafford. (score card)

Oldest/Youngest to Debut
At 49 years 119 days, James Southerton is the oldest player to make a Test debut, a record unlikely to be eclipsed – he was also the first Test cricketer to die. On 3 Oct 1996, Hasan Raza makes international debut at the age of 14 years and 227 days. if we count the gap between these two, that is 34 years and 217 days, most of the players are retiring at this age…..
Keepers are Bowlers
1st Test: South Africa v India at Johannesburg, 18 to 22 Dec 2013, MS dhoni and AB de Villiers both removed their Pad and Gloves and bowl for their teams. And for the first time, both keepers bowled in a test match.
No Need to hit Sixes
Don Bradman has hit just 6 sixes in his entire career. His simple theory was ‘The less you hit the ball in the air, the less you tend to get out’. in our day’s cricket is nothing without sixes. (List of Most Sixes in ODI’s)

Shane Warne is the leading run scorer of all time that has never hit a century (145 matches, 3154 runs). and Misbah is the leading runs scorer in ODI without scoring a single to look at the complete list.
In the first ever Test match in 1877, Australian Cricket team beat England by 45 runs. 100 years later, in the Centenary Test, the result was exactly the same.
