Usman Khan Shinwari replaces injured Mohammad Amir for Pakistan vs Sri Lanka ODI Series

Pakistan Cricket Team’s premier fast bowler Mohammad Amir is ruled out of the upcoming ODI series against the Sri Lanka, kicking off from Oct 13. The premier Pakistani fast bowler ruled out of the ODI series after getting injured in the 2nd ongoing Test between Pakistan and Sri Lanka at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai.  Chief Selector Pakistan Cricket Team, Inzaman ul Haq on Monday morning named Usman Khan Shinwari as a replacement for Amir for five-match ODI series against Sri Lanka.

The left arm fast bowler, Mohammad Amir was playing the ongoing Test against Sri Lanka in Dubai, where he was forced to leave the field after getting his right shin injured.  The star bowler got himself injured on the 1st day of ongoing Test, where he left the field for treatment with leaving his 17th over mid way. On the 2nd day, Amir once gain joined the field but felt uncomfortable only after bowling two overs. Amid all this, the left quickie was taken to the hospital for an MRI scan. The reports revealed it will take a while for Amir to get back with rhythm. Therefore, Pakistan Cricket Board announced Usman Khan Shinwari as him replacement.

It will be pertinent to mention here that Aamir’s absence would hurt Pakistan a bit, especially in the ongoing Test as Sri Lanka were yet there to bat in their 2nd innings. Even though, Wahab Riaz led from the front in Aamir’s absence after Pakistan’s batting collapse, but if he would have been accompanied by Mohammad Amir within all, the situation would have been even better.

About Usman Khan Shinwari

The left arm pacer has been very much in the domestic scene for a while and that is why he’s just standing close to the doors of international cricket. Shinwari is yet to make his ODI and Test debuts and with his name in the squad for Sri Lanka ODIs, it seems it would be the time for him to get his debut. The promising guy hailing from FATA, made his T20I debut against Sri Lanka but couldn’t make any impact with his performance. It will be pertinent to mention here that Shinwari also played both the T20s during World XI’s visit to Lahore, Pakistan. The 23-years old fast bowler represents Karachi Kings in the Pakistan Super League.
