Ignacio Monreal Eraso, famously known as Nacho Monreal, currently plays as a left-back for the English Premier League club Arsenal, besides regularly appearing for the Spanish national football team. After a brief training period with his childhood club Pamplona, Monreal joined the youth academy system of Osasuna. Since joining, he started playing for the Osasuna Juvenil A team. Shortly after, he earned his promotion to the Osasuna reserve team in 2005. He played 36 matches for the B team in the 2005-06 season, and proved his defending skills in the Segunda Divisións. Monreal signed a long-term contract with one of the Premier League champions, Arsenal, on 31st January 2013, for an estimated transfer fee of €9.5 Million. He received the No.17 jersey upon his arrival at the club. Shortly after, he made his Premier League debut for the Gunners against Stoke City on 2nd February 2013. He provided his first assist to Santi Cazorla in a match against Aston Villa on 23rd February 2013. Monreal then scored his first goal for Arsenal in an EPL match against Swansea City on 16th March 2013.
